Just wondering real Buick world when swapping to aluminum heads if you see an engine temp change.

    Cheers!

All things being equal ( tuning wise and in terms of both heads making the same hp) the Aluminum heads of course will disapate heat faster.

This effect in a Aluminum heads chamber is why you need to run more compression.

This faster heat reduction is also what drives up underhood temps more when driving over a iron Head and then the motor sucks in hotter Intake air and you end up not making the power you think you should!

...and if the cooling system is adequate, you'll probably never notice the temperature change. If you could measure coolant flow, you MIGHT see an increase in the amount of coolant going through the radiator, but with only a slight change in temperature.

not street info, but last season in the fall with my iron heads after a run when the water temp was 160ish starting we would be nervous 180 and then cool pretty quickly.

this year with al heads ut hardly ever got near 170 after several passes.

had same electric waterpump, rad, and fan both seasons
