Airshocks or springs?

    Folks,

I have a 63 LeSabre Vert that is sitting low in the rear. I was thinking of new springs but a friend of mine mentioned air shocks. Not racing just for show. Can't find airshocks. Monroe doesn't make 'em anymore and can't find a Gariel Dealer near me.

    Any suggestions?

I don't think the springs will set you back much more than a set of air shocks and it is really the "right" way to do it.

The air shocks put a lot of load on a shock mount that was designed to dampen a load, not carry it and the rear springs are an easy swap.

New springs would also last longer than the air shocks - you'd not have to worry about filling it up every so often.

You can buy a set of new springs for about $150./pr.

that replace the springs and don't touch the shocks.
the A-bodys are pretty easy to put air ride on. Though you'll mess the front caster (I think thats the one) when your sitting low if you drop the rear.
