I am going to replace all the rubber around the doors and the tailgate of the 67 Sportwagon. Steele and Soft Seal both make the rubber, any recommendations or experience with one over the other or other manufacturers? Thanks.
steele rubber on my 66 bel air. no issues. sof seal had to be returned. this was years ago however. fwiw. I would go with steele rubber unless I find reason to go with another.
/\/\/\ Good choice. I bought OER and they SUCK. The fit is horrible and they leave black 'stains' anywhere they contact the paint. I'll be removing them shortly. What a waste of money.
Jerry, not sure which brand you were indicating with your /\/\/\ icon but I just finished ordering the complete doors and tailgate weatherstrip kit plus the door bumpers from Steele. Thanks
Good choice = you got it right. I made the mistake of buying OER (original equipment reproduction) brand which I regret.
That's where I'll, most likely, be getting the replacements for the new junk that was installed last year. Sucks wasting money and having to do the same job twice.
I have ordered stuff TWICE from STEELE at the Charlotte Auto Fair, and BOTH times ended up with material from PUI...Just sayin'... And I thought Steele was SUPPOSED to be the manufacturer...
The rubber seals product I received recently for the Sportwagon had Steele brand on it but 4-5 years ago I order some Riviera rubber/felt products from Steele and got PUI also.
Used Soft Seal for my 71' Skylark restoration and got a good product. Did have to drill a new hole occasionally to match what was there. but overall quiet well pleased.
Used Steele products on the complete new rubber on all doors and tailgate on the 1967 Sportwagon and very pleased so far.
