The PRND21 tranny gear selection works well. I do not want to make any adjustments to the gear select cable on the th350 tranny.
Is there a way to adjust the "rod" (I assume) so that I can remove the ignition key in the lock position. At this time I usually have to give the floor shifter an extra bump so that I can remove the key.
I have the Chassis manual for my "72 GS. I cannot seem to find a reference in the manual. There must be an article but cannot find. Help?

Reach under the wheel and give the drum a turn into a firm "park" position. Either that or adjust the back drive from the trans. ws

E08DEDAB-2990-4142-B1A4-8A303BDE47AC.jpeg The adjustment is done on the linkage/rods that come off the steering column and go to the transmission. There is a trunnion that has a 1/2” head bolt. Loosen the bolt, push up on the rod going to the steering column, and tighten the bolt.

I believe it is called a Back Drive adjustment.

You gotta compromise most the time either it is centered over the gear position or the key comes out smooth, sometimes you dont get both

Have seen that problem a lot over the years. Quick fix was always hand turning the steering column if too lazy to adjust the rod.
