1970 is a ONE YEAR ONLY set-up. Tough to find. Fits ALL FULL size cars & Rivs.

What makes the 1970 a 1 year only set up? And what parts do I need to buy?

    Contact Scarebird about the parts.

Rotors, calipers & a few other parts. They went from a 4 piston non sliding caliper (like a Corvette) to a single large piston sliding caliper.

okay, so recently i've had some work done to the car, and im trying to figure the cost together of doing the disk brake conversion, does anyone know where i could find some oem parts or am i better off just buying new?

I would go new if you can. The parts are good and ready to bolt on.

okay but still, what are the parts i am going to need to buy to put together front disc brakes on a 70 buick wildcat? Also that being said by using new is it going to be difficult for me to find pads when i need them replaced? or would they be the same specs as originals? the only reason i ask is because if i go to my parts store will i be able to simply say "i need a set of pads for a 70 wildcat" or will i need to write down the make, model and specs of the brakes so it doesnt become a hassle to match them up when the job needs to get done.

Have a look on rockauto.com. There are some calipers there.

Pads are there as well, but I don't see rotors.

I would contact Yardley. He probably knows lots about this conversion. Here's a recent thread,

im going out on a limb here but i am guessing the 68/69/70 wildcat take the same parts. my 69 wildcat has factory discs and i saw a 68 with discs as well.

there have to be other big car GM's that have the same setup? Gord

Hi so im finally getting around to gathering parts for the 1970 buick wildcat to do disc brakes, What was that adapter kit for that you sent a link about? also what parts do i need to buy, Calipers, Rotors, Pads, what else? do i need a different booster or master cylinder? are there any lines that need to be changed?

    Thanks,
    Anthony

I'm a bit confused, I contacted Scarebird and the kit they have is to use different parts from different model cars to create a disc brake setup, ideally I would like to go with a factory setup. If I'm going with a factory set up is it difficult to find parts?
