This is also on the "U-shift em" area. From what I can tell reading the Yahoo page there is an adapter plate for Nailhead to Chevy auto and also a newly fabricated bellhousing for manual trannys. I am still looking for more info. This is what I have found thus far. I will post it in two post due to message length. Sal "Thanks man, attached a picture of the adapter for the bellhousing. Doc os still awaiting the arrival of the flywheels, then I will have pics of the complete automatic adapter kit. I'll also post this on the site. thanks Ray -----Original Message----- From: dugssin57 [mailtougsSin@a...] Sent: Tuesday, March 18, 2003 8:17 AM To: NailHeadBuick@yahoogroups.com Subject: [NailHeadBuick] Re: Nailhead to late manual bellhousing adapters now available - In NailHeadBuick@yahoogroups.com, "Ray Elkins" wrote: Okay, the Doc Frohmader automatic tranny adapters are still awaiting the completion of the new flywheels, but the adapters for the bellhousing are now available. They are CNC plasma cut steel plates and will adapt a (Chevy-pattern) bellhousing to the 57-66 364/401/425. This is the adapter only and the hardware to attach it to the block. You'll still need a flywheel/clutch, etc. and be creative with your pilot shaft. The adapter is 1/2" thick so you will have to compensate for that. These are adapters designed to use the 700-R4 or other late GM automatic, but I talked Doc into letting me make these adapters available as well. Since getting the manual bellhousing on the Nailhead is half the battle, I thought a few fellas might want one to play with."
A little more. "The reason the bolt pattern is Chevy is because the most readily available 700-R4 trannies have that bolt pattern. Any questions lemme know, cost is $149+ shipping and that includes the hardware. I'll have one here to play with when Doc gets here Sunday and I can send pictures at that time." Thanks Ray Ray all of us Nailheaders certainly Thank You for this. When you have pic's of the first one would you please also post it over on www.V8Buick.com Board under Da Nailhead section. I know when I plunk down the cash for this set-up it will feel real good knowing it's going to a fellow Buick Nut and list member. Doug Updike
