Will be good once the alum heads are on...

LOL, If I had the aluminum heads that I was planning on running with 11 to 1, I could probably get away with it, BUT with the irons, I doubt it, I'll find out:eek:
I do know I need shorter pushrods, geez, I have like 4 sets now:mad:

You may be able to get away with pump gas depending on your cam and how it is degreed. I would be interested to see the cylinder pressure if you did a compression test. You could degree the cam to lower the cylinder pressure a bit.

You can buy a simple and cheap suringe at your local Farm and Fleet store that is marked in both cc and ml increments, and a piece of plexiglass from Home Depot. Then use common household oil to CC the heads, which is what I did. It works, my heads were exactly as they were advertised.

With my old combo and the 413 cam degreed 4 advanced I was measuring 175 to 180 lbs.
This combo with the TA roller and a few degrees LESS duration, but more lift, Im curious too.
Kinda comparing apples to oranges tho between flat and roller cam specs, as the valve action is totally different, which reminds me, I gotta check piston to valve clearance:cool:

That's funny Mark, my push rods are 8.950" in my 470. I'm using the Johnson roller lifters and there is .040 off my heads, with a zero deck block.:D

I have a set of 8.900 push rods I'm not using.

I have 2 sets. When I swapped in my Johnson lifters, I needed longer push rods because the Johnson lifter cup was .230" deeper. Went to look at my build thread for the block #1, push rod length was listed there as 8.675, so 8.675 + .230 = 8.905, so I ordered 8.900. Didn't realize that the push rods for block #2 were actually 8.725. Put it all together and the adjusters were not flush. Had to order the 8.950s.. So now I have 8.900 and 8.725.:)

The 8.95's put my adjusters flush with the bottom of the rocker, I preload only a quarter turn.

Hang onto those for a while Larry. Between you and Mark I might need one of those length pushrods.
I am switching to solids which are about 1/4" shorter than hydraulics.
