ac delete housing

Hi I've bought my brothers '72 Skylark custom with a 350-4 engine with air. The air hasn't worked for years and the fan belt had been cut so I've decided to pull all ac components of the motor, there was no pressure in the lines. All went well till I got to the condenser housing on the fire wall. After much blood and the use of a saws-all I got everything off except the bit that houses the heater motor that's jammed up under the left front fender and fender wheel well.

I have an a/c delete housing on order which I'm looking forward to installing (the engine compartment is looking great!) but it looks like I'll have to remove the metal fender well or the fender to get at the heater motor to do a proper installation job. Is there a way to remove just the fender well without touching the fender or do i have to bite the bullet and pull the fender?

In the mean time I've cut some sheet metal and duct tape it to cover the hole where the condenser housing use to be.

Also, what kind of sealant do I need when I install the a/c delete housing?

    Thanks,

    Brad

Yes you can pull just the inner fender, little challenging but not terrible, for sealant, clear silicone, any kind of body seam sealer, Butyl tape etc
