Plain and simple...Aaron did not sell this to Glen. He has no legal responsibility to Glen. 70purplerag assumed any description responsibilities when he purchased AND assumed any storage responsibilities as well. Aaron didn't need to store it...he could have legally set the engine in the back yard until purplerag picked it up...as it was he stored it inside out of the elements for him.

Implied warranty states have laws regarding this sort of issue, but quite frankly it would fall back on 70purplerag as he bought the engine in running condition and had it stored. If there is no implied warranty in the sellers state, it is buyer beware and Glen has no legal recourse at all

Aaron is this the same engine you purchased with rust in the #1 cyl, from ksplynch

No, Kevin also asked me that also before he purchased it. That was the reason I gave him extra time and accomodations to have someone local from the board come over and check it out. That is why I offered him to check compression.

ksplynch's engine was cored in Locust, NC.

I am not taking sides and I have not read all the arguments and rebuttals.
But, I would argue with the above post that there is a difference between doing what is "legal" and what is "right".

legal and right are not the same whatsoever...I am not taking sides either, but Glen has to be careful to not expose himself to judgment if there is no legal basis for his written complaints which are bashing a person he didn't buy anything from.

    northcorner Guess what I'm thinking..

I still believe Aaron did the "right" thing when HE sold it. He offered for someone to come check it out before hand. After he sold it, it is now the new owner's responsibility to check it out and represent what he (the new owner) is now selling. It appears that temporary storage was part of the original deal when Aaron sold the engine. He did that. Whether or not it was the perfect conditions for the engine or not, he did what he said he would do for HIS buyer.
