I would like to put a P235/60R 15 Tire on my 15×6 Buick Rally Wheel on the front of my GS. The recommended rim width is 6.5"-8.5".
My question is:" Could I use this size tire fit this wheel on a wheel +/- 0.5" and be safe for street driving ?
I don't wish to use a taller diameter tire.
    P235/60R15 :26.1"
    P295/50R15 :26.7" on 15×8" Rallys.

It’ll be fine, but aren’t rallies 15x7 anyway?

The 15" Rallye that goes on the GS is the smaller lug pattern, 5 X 4.75". That wheel is 7" wide. The Rallye wheel for the bigger cars uses the larger lug pattern, 5 X 5". Most of those wheels are 6" wide. Some were 7"wide. If you have a 15 X 6" wheel, it won't bolt up to a GS.

Larry...these are 15×6" 3.5" Backspace, These have the standard GM bolt circle pattern.
I bought these from Coker Tire( Speciality Wheel in TN. Mr.Jay B.Britt,Jr.

That back spacing is for the GN. Buick never made a 15” wheel with the 5 X 4.75 bolt pattern that was 6” wide. Only the 14 X 6” wheels for the 78-87 Regals had 3.5” of back space. That being said, a 235 tire will work, it just isn’t optimal.
