A birthday Buick

    Good morning everyone,

My name is Jared and I've been lurking around the site for a few months now. Finally made an account and am now getting around to an introduction.
I've been into hot rods and muscle my entire life. Constantly reading about them and shopping for them, but have only really ever dabbled in them minimally. I've bought a couple of cars in years past ('78 mustang & 68 Firebird), did a little work and sold for a profit.
Honestly I move around to much to facilitate the hobby, so I've always just stuck to motorcycles.... Not anymore.

I just celebrated yet another birthday in Afghanistan this past week, and about two months ago I found the right car, in the right condition that I've been looking for. Advertised on the net from New Jersey, a '67 Buick GS400, just like the one my dad had so many years ago. He passed away 8 years ago this month, and I easily talked myself into bringing the car home for my 30th birthday...
Money traded hands, and the Buick was delivered on a car hauler about 3 days ago. She's an original GS400//4-Speed car (confirmed by the VIN). It's got a '70 455//TH400 combo currently. I intend to replace the slushbox with an M22z from Jeff at Midwest muncie almost immidiately.

I'm currently living solely on the pictures sent by my girlfriend, since I've never met the car in person. We'll formerly meet for the first time when I get back to the States.
Anyway, sorry for the long post. I'm really looking forward to getting to know all the guys that hang around on here and benefitting from all of your knowledge.

Welcome from Montana! Very Nice! I had seen that car advertised, too. Looked like a killer buy and a great car from what I'd seen. Congrats!
