A BIG negative for CARS

    Well, I'm assuming all the above complaints have a valid origination, but I've got to say, I've been dealing with Cars for about 5-6 yrs. and haven't had any bad experiances.
    I have their floormats in my GSX and while I will say they appear made of a bit softer material than the originals, they are wearing just fine with only a little scuffing from my boot heal and look as good as originals to me.
    Perhaps the fact that I actually drive to their place makes a big difference as a face to face deal always seems to turn out better than a phone exchange where you're unable to view a part before your purchase.
    I will say, I have a lot of Cars repro stuff on my cars and will continue to buy from them in the future, maybe I'm just lucky...:Do No:

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

    I met Glenn several years ago (10 ??) at the Nats while showing my car. He came up and looked "BigRed" over and had nothing but nice things to say (and she wasn't half as purrty back then) .....told me he has now and also in the past owned several'69's. He then told me he was a vendor, and if I pass by to please say hello. I did, bought some stuff I needed (Gaskets for tail lights and side markers).....

    Over the years I've always stopped by when I see them and likewise, Glenn has always stopped to talk with me

    ....and I've purchased other '69 stuff they've come out with such as the repro rear emblem/lock cover and the "400" inserts for the rear markers.

    Never had a problem, although all of my purchases have been in person and from Glenn - the "other guy" .....now he's always displayed a 'tude of "Id rather be having root canal than standing here...."

    Im not doubting any of your experiences......but it is a bit of a shock to me as I would consider Glenn one of my "Buick Friends"

    Okay, I read the whole post on this and will tell my dealing with Glen (owner). I have only delt with Glen and have had good dealings with him. The rest of the sales staff seem short and can't wait to get of the phone and go home. I bought a set of 72 only GS front impact strips, floor mat set and some REAL N.O.S. parts in the orginial boxes. I may have positive dealings with him because I've known him about 20 years and only bought things I could see smell and taste one on one!!! I have talked to Glen a wile back about poor satifaction issues from his customers and he said it was a limited problem of a few. After reading all of your posts I going to contact Glen and see what he has to say this time. Do'nt worry I'm not going to bring our first class club into this and will not give any examples of the tranactions. I'll let you know what I find, AL.

    Okay. is this soon enough!!! I talked to Glen and he knows I visit many Buick sites and would not give any direct examples. He has explained to me that there are people out there you just can't please and just cause proplems. He told me he has represents all his parts correctly and wanted direct examples of problems, well that part is up to the person that had a problem. Glen was concerned that there was a problem and me as well for I've had good experances with him. Well I short I made the first step and if anyone has a clear legitmate problem Glen seem very interested in knowing where the problem are. Hope this helps, AL.
     
  5. Al, thanks for doing some legwork on this issue. Sounds like anyone here that has posted a problem should call and ask to speak to Glen only, if you want to hash it out again.

    David, I only deal with Glen and there may be the problem, his help may be causing the problems!!! I look at it this way, if Glen is conserned of a problem and finds it linked to his help this resolve the problem. Glen told me to have anyone who has a problem to bring it to his attention and I think he is trying to do the right thing. Please I have made a real effort to resolve some of the problems and it time for any that need clearity to act now and you can use my name but I have kept our club name private. I hope this help, AL.

    Since I know Glenn personally I have an opinion......
    Personally I think we should tell him to come here to defend himself. All this whinning and criing dont do anyone any good if a person isnt allowed to come and attempt to make things right. If you had a bad time there ok youve posted it now let him come and answer the banter!!? I have done business with Cars throughout the last 15 years and have never had an issue with them. I think I will call and open the door myself to let him here and see first hand how bad his service is........

    CARS Still Gets A Thumbs Down From Me!

    Like said I said I'll NEVER buy from CARS again,i''m sure they could care less though.Guess i'm one of those that "can't be pleased".Hard to be pleased when you are gettin' the shaft!
    Mike you'd be whinning & crying too if you got the service i got!
    My opinion of CARS remains unchanged-It's still a BIG Negative.

    First I would like to say I'm on our side (BPG). If anyone has any issues with CARS now is the time to do something!!! What do you have to lose, you may come ahead!!! I would like to hear of someone who had a problem contact him in the real near future just to see how he handles it. I'm not making these post to bother anyone just trying to right some wongs, AL.

    Update

    OK, I'm the one who started this thread and I should have an end to it by next week. Lectric Limited has reworked the spark plug wires, replacing what they and I think is the defective piece. I'll put them on the car this weekend and if I'm right, I'll be talking to CARS next week. If I'm wrong, then I don't know what else could cause a spark plug wire not to work. I'll let you know the results and the attitude of CARS shortly.

    I don't expect everything I buy to be perfect, but if it's not, I expect the seller to make good. If they do, no hard feelings.

    As of right now, CARS has gone out of it's way to dodge this bullet. The wires are perfect, it must be me. They've never had another complaint. Yada Yada Yada.

    I saw some people here who say they never had a problem. I haven't seen anyone who said they had a problem and CARS made it right. There IS a difference.

    I can't wait to get out in the garage this weekend.

    I won't be doing any name dropping. I may ask for Glen if I don't get satifaction from his number two guy, Jeff. But, you shouldn't have to know the owner or have to drop a name in order to get them to stand behind their product. It should be automatic. It's just good business.

    I too was taken in by Cars. Specifically ordered parts for my car by phone, detail by detail about the parts with someone on the other end that just yes'd me to death that all was as should be about them. Parts come and they are all wrong. Call up and am told I have the wrong carb on the car, the wrong engine and that means I can get no refund or exchange. :af: :af: :af: :af:
    (The engine and carb are all correct for my car.)

    To this day the parts are hanging on my garage wall as a reminder never to do business with them again.

    Even seen them at Carlyle and they were so rude that the other people I was with were glad they didn't own Buicks to have to deal with people like them.

    After reading here, I just have to add my 2 cents.

    I also have bad things to say about Cars:


    Their listings are only 95% correct.

    When you order a part that doesn't fit, it's always your fault.

    If the order is less than $55, you pay a $2.50 minimum order charge.

    If you scream loud enough, they'll take it back, minus a re-stocking fee. You send it back, wait, and when the credit is never given, you call back a dozen times. Each time they tell you they'll do it tomorrow.

    When you request to speak to Glenn, he's always not there.

    GET THIS:

    Once I recorded the conversation I had with D!ck when he kept giving me the runaround. Later when I was finally able to speak with Glenn, I told him how I was treated. He wanted me to send him the tape (at my expense of course) so he could hear it, and I did. Glen told me D!ck was sent home for the day, and the correct parts were then sent to me next day air at their expense, and the credit I had coming was finally given to me. I wonder if he still works there? Probably.

    I want to note that the only way I could get through to Glenn was to contact the ROA and they contacted him and told him to phone me, which he then did. How's that for customer service? If he really cared, he would make sure that his customers had a way to contact him.

    I'll have to need the part really bad before ever buying from them again.

    I just don't get it.. I've seen some "BIG PLAYERS" respond here...... and all is favorable in their experiences.:confused: :Do No:

    Meanwhile a "little guy" says some things... just his personal experiences.. hmmmmm [edit].................................................

    AT LEAST 4 moderaters have responded FAVORABLY for the vendor..:Do No: :confused: but there have been MANY MORE "little guys" piping up about their REAL WORLD experiences !!:spank:

  17. Jeff, it's got nothing to do with anyone being a moderator. And no one said anyone was lying! Different individuals have had different experiences, obviously. It may very well be that Cars is treating some individuals much differently than others, intentionally. That's BS in my book. But don't go off on anyone here that has posted their positive experiences, they are just being honest like those that have had serious problems.

    What nailheadina67 says is a starting point. All of the places he advertises need to be contacted by the dissatisfied consumers. ROA, BCA Bugle, Hemmings, OCW, or whereever he adveritises. I am not sure he is in any of those other than ROA and he is a member there. I know ROA and Hemmings take these things very seriously. I think an exhaust supplier from the SE was banned from Hemmings for similiar issues.

    I don't know which complaint is worse, sending the wrong part and making it so hard to get the right part, or taking the order and not shipping for weeks even though the right part eventually arrives.

    As I said before I've never had a problem with "CARS" but I'm picking up on one or two things from these post. There is no doult there is a problem with some of there help that answers the phone and I found when I asked a lot of important questions I got positive results. I guess what I'm saying is before you call on a part know excactly what you are looking for and ask alot of questions and don't assume anything when spending your hard earned money. And one last point; I as I posted earlier about "CARS" Glen has told me to have anyone that has a problem to bring it to his attention and he will deal with it. Posting your complains on the Buick Board is healthy but no one gets anywhere till we act on a problem and I still waiting for a post on someone who tried to resolve a problem. If no one tries to resolve a problem with "CARS" I'm just wasting my time making posts. I'm on our side on this it time to striaghten out the problem instead of complain about it. AL.
