They seem to have a you bought it you own it attitude. They sell lots of great stuff. But if you have a problem, don't expect them to stand behind their product. Once it leaves their building it's yours. And they aint takin' it back.:moonu:

  2. Gee Bob, sorry you've had trouble with them. I've never ordered from them before. Can you provide details? Not much to go on for us to form an opinion here.

I've had bad luck with them also. I bought what was to be a NEW rear spoiler. My mistake was i didn't need it for a couple months after i received it. It was a used spoiler. Sand scratches all over it. You could even see where the GSX sticker was. I have about 5 hrs into trying to make it look just ok. It was my last purchase from them. How do they even do something like this.

Spark plug wires. They resell 'Lectirc Limited wires. They look like factory have all the proper date codes. Also will not conduct a spark. Now in fairness I have friends who have the wires on their cars and have not issues. But this set I got had real high resistance. Twice as high as a set a friend of mine has and has not put on a car.

I tried to put them on my car before the national. I couldn't get them to work. I spoke to Jeff from CARS at the national and tried to return them there. He said I had to call NJ office and get a return authorization. I called from the national and spoke with Victor who said send them back and we will give you your money back.

I sent them back and then the story started changing. They would only repair them. Of course they found nothing wrong with them. After six weeks of waiting to get them back I finally filed a dispute with MasterCard and got my money back. Two months later, CARS got Mastercard to put the charge back on my card. Then Jeff at CARS decided he was going to keep my money and the wires (because he knew I didn't want them back). After using MasterCard to push them and waiting another 3 weeks CARS finally returned the wires to me. Oh, by the way they charged me $6 postage to return them to me.

Well they still don't work. The car runs fine with two other sets of wires.

I had problems with them a few years ago on a wildcat air cleaner disk. The metal one. After running it on the car for a month the paint started flaking off. I talked to Glenn. He said I must have too much heat under my hood. And that he would not replace the part.

Now keep in mind I've spend a couple thousand dollars with CARS over the years. According to Jeff, that doesn't matter to them. The customer is only right if they can prove it. And, how can I prove anything on this?

Oh, a friend ordered an NOS part from them a couple years ago. What they shipped was NOS, but was not a GM part. Some aftermarket part. Glenn told him NOS does not mean GM. And refused to take the part back.

I've bought many new and used parts without issue from CARS. But they do not stand behind their stuff if there is an issue. We got your money. Now, it's your problem. They'll have to be the only supplier in town before I buy from them again.

    Thanks for letting me vent.

  7. Have you tried contacting Lectric Limited directly?

Yea. They had them for a week or so. They say there's nothing wrong with them either.

I wont be giving my hard earned dough to CARS Inc. no matter what NOS, HTF or Reproduction parts they may have. There customer service is so horrible I don't know how they stay in business.

THe only times I have ever dealth with CARS, is at swap meets - when I can see their faces and parts....and I don't hand over the dough until I am satisfied with what I'm buying.

Tell your friend I would, quote "ram the peices of NOS stuff up their kazoo!"

NOS is Genuine Dealer item.....what they are pushing half the time is NORS ...... There is a helluva difference.....and they know it!

Scumbags when it comes to customer service. I know the words are harsh and some have not had issues, but if you could rate their feedback such as is done on ebay, you'd be flabergasted I'm sure.

They have always been less than cordial and pretty much could care less about any issue I've had with parts.

CARS-How do they stay in business?

I myself have had a couple of issues with Cars as well, they'll never get anymore of my hard earned cash.
1st thing was i bought an alleged NOS 72 Skylark Rear Bumper Emblem, got it & it was obviously a used piece,,not even a good used one at that.So i returned it,they did refund my money, but they heldout a "restocking" fee. That restocking fee is nothing but robbery in my opinion.
The a couple of years ago i saw their stand at the Nats & they actually had something i really needed.I was short on cash & asked if they would take a check.Answer No Sir we don't take checks.I said, well you take them through the mail.He said let me look at my list:rolleyes: .He gets in his truck & looked at a list, guess he saw i had returned a part once, anyways he comes out & says he won't take a check from me:Do No:
I said you'll never get anymore of my money then.He just stands there like an oaf.
Here's to Cars:moonu: :moonu: :moonu: :spank: :spank: :spank:

I've had many bad experiences with cars. The customer service is horrible. The attitude from them is unbelieveable. Not a well run business at all. I won't go back there again though. I can only get burned so many times.

    Happy Holidays everyone!

Yeah - I called them about some tail light bezels for a 68 LeSabre, The said thay had a NICE set. I asked them to bring them to Hersey so I could pick them up without worrying about shipping. They said sure. I get there and they are junk, pitted, dirty and gross. I said no thanks, they get pissed that I had them haul it with them and I would not take it. I guess I lucked out since I'm sure they would not have taken a return!

  16. Some people's definition of "nice" seems to be "not broken into 10 pieces". :spank:

I'm seriously considering emailing this thread to those characters. I wonder if they would even care though.

Several years ago I too was rooked by CARS. I bought an "allegedly" NOS part only for it to arrive in nice, but used condition. They took it back but charged a restocking fee and were incredibly rude to me. They couldn't believe that I was upset by them representing used as NOS. Actually I think when someone makes a mistake once or twice it can be classed as accidental. I see a trend in these responses, the misrepresentation of expensive Buick parts. It feels more like "fraud" then "accident".

    To quote Animal House:

    "I really hate those guys".

I'm no lawyer, but it sure sounds like there's enough ammo for a class action law suit here.

    Ken:

Don't email this to CARS. There's names and in some cases addresses associated with this board. We can do more damage if we just stop others from buying from them in the future. Put them out of business!
