Hello guys, I have worked out a deal with a guy that is selling an 83 regal with a buick 350 in it. The 350 is said to have fully ported and polished heads, has hooker headers, at least 10to1 compression, 530 lift cam, 2500 stalled 350 tranny, 373 posi gears in rearend and has run 11,30s in the 1/4 with slicks and a mixture of 93 and 106 fuel. A full weight car. My question is what else should I know about a 350 with this setup. I am new to the 350s and I just want to know what I am getting. I assume that the cam has to be a solid one and that I will have to be careful to keep the valves adjusted because the car will see mostly street duty. What else. I was actually surprised by the 1/4 numbers but without timeslips I can't really tell and the guy said that he would try to find them. The car is about 3 hrs away and I don't want to waste my time getting in the truck to pick it up and then not really want it. The problem is that I don't really think that the guy who is selling me the car put it together but I need to know enough about it to fork over cash. Especially in today's economy. Help a buick brother out guys.
i could be wrong but i have a hard time thinking a 350 would make a full weight regal go that fast without spraying or a turbo. that would be one hell of a sbb. one of the small block guys will have to chime in but i have my doubts not that im an expert in any way. you might be able to find a board member here to at least go take a peak at it for you.
