Well the ring and pinion gear set from a 8.2 Chevy work on a 8.2 BOP. I think the rear end in a 67 firebird is an 8.2 BOP. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks

yes they will , but ya'll have to use the chevy 8.125 yoke and get a special front pinion bearing and seal not to mention a hybrid u-joint. i read this in car craft years , i say years ago and ended up doing it and had no problems . yet the chevy 8.125 has a smaller pinion diameter than the bop 8.2 . and yes the 67 - 69 firebird 8.2 used the gears as the buicks . if it probaly wasnt for that , there wouldnt be any aftermarket gears for us

    8.2 to 8.2

Both the gears have the same pinion shaft diameter 1.438. They both use the same rebuild kits. Everything should be the same except for the pinion seal and the 27 to 25 spline yoke. Just go to any store and match up a u-joint it is not all that hard. More time consuming if anything at the store. If you need a conversion joint 1985 Iroc I think came with a 4" X 3" joint. I do not think you need to go to this extreme though try a standard chevy joint from a monte carlo 350 and see if that works. The only thing I am not sure of which I can check tonight is the actual length of each pinion.

Check here again to night and i will have your answer. Jim
