Hey Buick Family. I have the infamous white smoke with milky coolant and i was wondering if i should bandaid it with the Bars leaks Pro for a month? I am undecided about a product like that but I have already purchased it although it remains uninstalled. 350ci (X) vin. Thanks in advance

Its currently my daily and my trucks front and rear differentials are being replaced. Have a lot more cash going out than coming in due to being laid off because of the virus. I planned on doing a swap and wont be able to until then.

Looking online Bar's Leak says that if your car overheats in 15 minutes or less, then it's not going to work. If it takes longer it should work.

Replacing the head gaskets is the right way to do it, but I understand your financial situation.

BTW, is the oil clean or milky? If the oil is milky then forget it. You're just going to turn the engine into scrap metal.

Causes more repair later, plugs radiator and the heater core. I do not suggest it. CAn you do the gaskets yourself? You could probably do them in 4-6 hours, pull spark plugs and determine what side by seeing which plugs look steam cleaned.

What car is the Buick 350 in?

It was only discoloration in the coolant(milky). I tink I will just go ahead and park him and do the swap. I found an Ls1. Good or nah?

It "could" be an intake gasket also.
Has this engine ever been overheated bad?
Its not really common for the 350 head gaskets to pop

If the car is really nice, I’d think twice about swapping an ls in. You have a cheap problem now, parts for (and whole used) Buick 350s are cheap and can be made to make torque, which is what the car needs. Or go 455. You really have to rev an ls to get torque, and so much had to be changed to accommodate the swap (including rear gears that suit the engine) you may be better off swapping in a Buick 455. Or buy a lighter, smaller car for the ls.

The LS swap is a project. The Buick probably needs head gaskets. Mill heads .060 jet carb up , possibly.050 shorter pushrods. More compression, more torque. Add a 2200 torque converter. Recurve distributor , dual exhaust . Should run very well.
Could be alittle less hassle sticking to the Buick Engine for now

Good morning. I am about to start tearing him down and will definitely have a look at the intake gasket. Thanks for the advise
