Very nice example sans the wheels. A set of chrome Buick wheels would look so much better. My Granddad had this ones twin in color except his was a 4 door Park Ave.(He bought a used one in 79 with just under 10K miles when he sold me the 67). It wasn't a rocket ship by any means but I would not consider it to be slow as death. It had more than enough to get out of it's own way
Fix that easy with a 750 hp N/A pump gas TA Alum. or KB Iron block. .. you'd have the nicest LandYacht Buick Rocket Ship in the country, maybe world for 25-30K
Only a small percentage of these left the factory with a 350 during the GM strike, finding one with a 350 is few and far between.
I have driven 2 of the 350 equipped Electra's and for around town they were adequate, freeway entering was sluggish, once at speed they did fine. I have driven many 350 equipped LeSabre's of that era and while they certainly are not powerhouses, they performed adequately and if a 77 Cutlass with a 260 beat him then he either didn't know how to drive or there was something wrong with that Buick. Now if you were talking a 76 LeSabre with a V6 then that's another animal. Was just doing a little digging and a 75 Electra has a 0-60 time of 12.5 and a 77 Cutlass with a 403 11.3 - so I am not seeing a 260 Cutlass beating a 350 LeSabre.
It's torque that moves cars from a stop .... still, torque was down, but not as much as HP in those days.
