Only need the back with vertical pleats. It will go to Legendary to be used as a pattern for making reproduction seat covers. If you are in NY all the better, Thanks
Steve, Not sure if I understand what you are asking for. Are you looking to borrow this or purchase it? Steve
Sorry, didn't keep up with this post. That pattern in not the 1 I'm looking. But if you had a complete seat back that may work. Looking for a complete assembled rear seat back only. Foam, frame and cover. I need to send it to Legendary to use as a pattern for them to make us reproduction seat covers. I have a front seat and a rear seat bottom to provide to them. They may have to destroy it in the process or may return it with new covers installed. Would be best if someone had an extra to donate or I could pay a reasonable price for it.
Is this the pattern? It's the match to the front Notchback Bench in Saddle (456). I believe my folks had part of it redone many years ago... my guess it was the seat bottom. I'll be very interested in what they accomplish!
Yes , that is the pattern. If anyone has one to spare. They may be able to use any pattern as I believe the foam and frame is the same. But they need it complete to see how the cover attaches to the frame.
I have the foam and the incorrect cover as shown in previous post. I don't have the frame. Mine has been modified to fit around tubs and raised trans tunnel. You can have both if somebody else has a frame
Steve, You could borrow mine if it's not going to get destroyed and I got it back in a few weeks. Steve
I already know from helping them reproduce our floor mats nothing takes a couple weeks,I spent over a year on it and never got my originals back(they did make that up to me though).
We probably need to get the one out of the car here, when there is a break in the weather and can move all the crap out of it and broken race car out of the way.
I'm sorry mine are too nice to donate to the cause but am very interested in the product when competed? Do you have front seat covers already in the works too?
I can not say you would get the seat back returned ever or when. I would be glad to purchase one from somebody. They are going to make the front bucket covers and rear seat cover in white as it was the only color buckets available in 73. Once they have the patterns made and if they can get correct looking material they may make other colors. They have agreed to make these for us but nothing is started yet. They won't start until they have everything, so the longer it takes to get this rear seat back the longer before covers are available. It would help to know if other years used this same pattern and in what colors. If only someone had a library in their home to research this???????
Steve, Based on what you and John mentioned about getting the seat back, I would have to pass...this isn't an "extra" one I was offering to lend, I would be taking it out of my car for you. Steve
I can say that the vinyl pattern very closely resembles the "Elk Grain" pattern of my 72 Grand Ville interior, if not exactly the same. Many other colors of Elk vinyl were available, I purchased a big bolt of "Light Covert" (which is like a greenish tinged tan) from SMS to redo my seat covers. I also had to purchase a lesser amount of "Madrid" (?) texture for the seatback sides, armrest and center panels. Call SMS and text them a closeup pic of your seatcovers, the'll confirm the texture and vinyl type - there werent that many to choose from, even back on the day. 70-72 Cutlasses used Elk too.....
