I agree Marco I agree with the numbers you quote above, I think I've personally seen more than 7 1973 Stage 1 4-speeds over the years in magazines and in person. Now each time I run across one I will start keeping a count!
there is a guy in ohio i think that was keeping track of the 455 4 speeds and he was over 25 the last time i talked to him, that was about 3 yrs ago. i have a 73 stg1 4 spd i bought back in '72. orderd in sept came in just before christmas. what a mess from gm. heater didnt work, guages didnt and it shifted like the shifter was glued together. bought for racing nhra g/stock. best it went was 13.2 on a 12.8 record at the time. but nhra wouldnt help make it more competitive in '78, so i stopped. cars been sitting since then, 17k miles on it, all apart.............one of theses days when i'm done playing with the other cars........... john
forgot to add about the interior, white was the standard color, BUT, for an extra 350 i think it was, you could get another color. guy at work had a 350, all brown, thats how i found out john
Stage 1 registry Marco, I will soon be sending you 2 more to add to the Stage 1 Registry, 70 w/ 4speed, and '72 built in Fremont, CA. I got the Sloan stuff, I just need to go raise the hood and get the body tag info. You might want to send Jim Haas a private Message, he also has a true '72 Stage 1 built in Fremont that's not on the registry yet, his user name is BUICK528. It's a former NHRA record holder with a cool history.
I've always found that body style appealing. My mom had one when I was little. Was only in elementary and not very loyal to Buick or any kinda car back then but i've always liked them.
Re: Stage 1 registry Thanks Gary! :TU: Gees, I forgot about Jim and his 1972 record holder ou: Thanks for the heads up and the interest in what I'm doing! Merry Christmas to all
Corvette Woods Here's what you find when you tramp around the woods near Lynchburg Tn. You might even find a still or two!! Yes I did get it and several others!!
73 Black Stage 1 4 speed Mike, That was the car I owned earlier this year. I had it for sale at Charlotte and sold it to a dealer in New Jersey. Happy Holidays!
Here is a 73 Pontiac GTO 3 speed with sunroof that I found about four months ago. The guy wants $1500 for it.
The guy with the 73 GTO also has several old Buicks (actually, he has about 6-8 acres covered with "special interest" cars & trucks). He won't part them out. He will only sell complete cars. I'm going to go back soon & take some pictures of the Buicks. The last time I was there he had a 68 GS400, 67 GS340, 71 GS455, 70 GS455 convertible, 70 Skylark convertible plus other assorted GM's, Mopars & Fords. They are all extremely rough, some are probably only good for parts. I'll post the pictures & info as soon as I can.
