New to the forum and looking for any tips generally or how best to navigate v8buick. Here's a quick description of my barn find and parts I've secured so far:

Blue 72 Skylark Sport Coupe split bench w/o armrest, no electrics

Suprisngly, after 27 years sitting in a barn suffering Canadian winters, the car is complete and all parts in good working condition, except seat cushions, skins, carpet and headliner were ravaged by mice

It has a running 455 out of a 70 Wildcat (bonus!) with TH400 and 10 bolt posi 3.55 out of a gto
Floors and quarters are shot so I got 2 full pans (fire wall to back seat + trunk) as well as both full quarters before steel tax went up at the border last summer
Like-new rechromed front bumper (rear needs work and rechrome)
Spare GS hood in case I decide to go for a tribute
Front seat cushion new from PUI
Centreline alum 15's with new radial T/As 295 rear, 245 front (going for the bolder look)

I have gutted the interior and will resume resto this summer, once I move the car to my buddy's garage.

thats actually a very interesting car - a base Skylark in 72 was kind of rare (most i see were higher trim and option levels) - no exterior trim, non-park wipers and yet full wheel covers and bumper strips. I mean, anything could have been changed over the years but still....

Rhett, are you suggesting that my incling to keep it base is the right formula?

PS, the vin# tells me that it started with the 350-2, but I'm definitely keeping the 455 in there!
