pictures with the LT1 homeplate installed.. also a shot of the exhaust pipe under the car, thinking of maybe turning it out behind rear tires on both sides. rear diff cover.. i took a video of the car running but my neice deleted it... Arrgh! Dan C.
Gotta love family... My nephews son took pictures (at another Buick show fortunately) over my pictures of the GS Nationals a few years ago... He's better with that camera than I EVER will be, and he is only ten years old..
Imo I think it looked better without the home plate. But if anyone else wants one I think I have 4 or 5 I could sell. Lol I love the build though.
update: finally after a long break from working on my project i am ready to send to the paint shop to get my color change. Decided with a Victory Red Body and Black Gs Stripe on the hood, no side stripe. here is a quick video of my engine running and a walk around 5/6/2012... :TU: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9al-Zj3kk4Y
I took a couple of pictures with my phone when visiting the body shop on Friday of my car.. the quarter panel, deck lid, door and fender was stripped to bare metal on pside so far.. the quarter panel had a light skim coat of filler applied and the block sanding is started, should be very straight and smooth when finished. The fender has a all metal patch repair on the bottom which is typical of these cars. The decklid was in excellent condition and a sealer applied in the paint booth. The shop is taking a ton of digitals as they do the work so I will have a record of the repairs when finished. Progress is moving and costing.. :dollar: :dollar: :dollar: Dan C..
The right side quarter now has the guide coat on and is looking good and straight. The door gap is lined up nice and the decklid was tweaked and fits really good now. If you look at the top of the deck lid pictures you will see a man made crease in the rear deck filler behind the convertible top where the panels were factory joined. This seems to be stress point on a lot of the cars that I see so my body guy decided to remove the original lead that was in that spot ( yes, it was cracked ) and then weld in a reinforcement metal support and make a groove like you would see on the coupe models. I know - I know - it's not supposed to be on the convertible model but if it stops it from cracking and flexing I said to go for it. Dan C.:TU:
