Found this qjet today. Wondering if it would be a good winter project to take apart and clean up?

They are not hard to come by, that looks like a good use of the old term, "let a dead dog lay"

Thank you sir! Might be nice to have and look at just for learning. Maybe $10?

That Idle Solenoid is worth it if you have it.

I'll have to see what they want for it. I'd really like to keep this one, but who knows.

What's the most I should pay for that?

Well, it does look a little rough.
It is a very nice quadrajet to work from. Should be stamped 7042240. It would be 800+cfm.
Does the front and back shaft move?
You are probably in good shape for up to $50, if you get all the parts with it. Like mentioned, sell the fast idle solenoid.

Agreed. $50 max but as little as possible. I'd start getting uncomfortable about $35 on that one.

Thanks, I didn't look that closely at it. So I'm not sure about the shafts moving. :(

The car has been sitting there for a long time. I'll just say that I'm the only one that's has really shown any interest.

If anything at least grab the sec hanger. Needles , power piston , jets all the internals, externals too .

If the throttle shafts move, it's a serviceable core. I'd plunk down $45-50 for it. Better to have it go to good use then melted down into Chinese furniture.

Entire carb and solenoid are in my possession. Thanks guys.

My winter project is to attempt a complete rebuild. I have Cliffs book to help guide me as well.

Cool, glad you snagged it. I have 3 of these cores which I am putting together for my 67....one is nearing completion. Been a long time coming, hope to try it out soon & feel the power.
