its my understanding the th350 in the 72 b bodys is a long shaft trans. i have a good 700r4 setting in my building i know i need the adapter but other than that these are pretty much bolt in right? i dont need a new ds or anything.
According to this link, https://www.tciauto.com/trans-dim#700R4 The THM350 with a 9" tail shaft is 30 11/16" long, with the 12" tail shaft, 33 27/32" long. The 7004R is 30 3/4" long.
Li dint remember if the 700 trans has a different output shaft spline count vs a th-350? Either way the shaft is too short anyways if you have a long tail th-350. Then you need to move the crossmember along the frame. Setting up the TV cable is most critical, you can buy kits. Your Q jet likely doesn’t have the TV cable connection so another mod needed there. And then you need the right speedo gear to make your spedo correct. I would start by measuring your trans. Some of the big cars had Th-375 trans
spline count is the same i do know that. i was under impression b bodys had the 9 in shaft. the 12 in was only like a motorhome or something irrc. whats a th375 vs a th350 just a stronger version? yeah im aware i need the tv cable set up. i think i have it in the metal building at home. car has a edelbrock on it not the oem qjet. which will prob get a used sniper or fitech sooner or later.

The TH-375 is basically a TH-400 with a th-350 output shaft and spline count. Likely it’s just a TH-350, but best to confirm. “Tv made EZ” sells a TV kit to bolt to the Edelbrock and it’s adjustable. Their website lists lots of good TV cable info.
car is a 350 car so im guessing its a th350 as well. you can get the adapters for the tv cable off jegs summit etc as well. not very expensive. im pretty familiar with tv cable set ups just seeing if im right on these being the 9 in th350.
sean i have another question unrelated will the a body headers for a 350 fit on a full size? looks like there is plenty of room for them. i had bought a set for that 83 i had to do a 350 swap in storage.
