I think one of our fellow Canadian V8 members owns nearly every 72 Stage 1 in existence (just kidding Bill)
We have a 72 Stage 1 conv., but it's not numbers matching. It's a truly rust free car, which would make it one of only a handful in that respect I'm sure. I have most of the correct 72 Stage 1 parts to make it complete (WS code block, 2242 carb., 2016 distributor, smog set - up).
But it has had a poor quality color change from the original Stratomist Blue to Black by the previous along with some very poor bodywork (not from any rust, but rather minor collision repairs):spank:
We don't really want to sell it, but maybe if the price was very worthwhile we would consider it :Brow:
A guy by the name of Mark Jaeger in Ohio has an original 72 Stage 1 conv. (Sandalwood on brown). The last I heard he wanted $40K.

    $40,000

The $40,000 saddlewood convert has been for sale for several months that tells me its over priced for what the market will bare. I think If you give it time something reasonable will come your way.........Chris

Thanks alot Guys, I'm still looking, would prefer a hardtop anyway, and 40K is out of my budget hopefully there are some nice ones out there cheaper than that.

Are you looking for a done car, or something to restore?

I have been in contact with the owner since it hit Ebay, I started another post on the bench looking for someone who could check out this car for me in Houston, but haven't heard from anyone yet. Something is strange about this deal bacause the owner said he would take 20k, but the last auction for it went to 20,100 and it did not sell. Ya'll know how ebay is though, all you got to do is get your friend to bid the car up to a figure close to your asking price and see what happens.

the undercarriage looks like a mess. why would you undercoat it, isn't it a southern car. I never will understand why people under coat cars, I wouldn't. and the paint around the emblems, ........

No this car lived it's life in New York, only came to Houston a few months ago according to seller. I wonder about the under carriage?

I have one also but not for sale. You have a good taste in cars to zero in on this particular combo. This one is 49K miles and all original as far as I know including paint in really nice shape. Just scratches around the trunk lock from the other keys.

Green seems to be common. Just teasing, Bill (our Canadian ST1 Museum Curator).. :Brow:
