But alot of the little things if on a rust free car can just be cleaned up and re-used. Like my car, all the fuel and brake lines are actually in nice shape. And I bet your car will be the same way. The only reason I would put new on is so the old ones could be used on my 455 conv. Then all the bolts and screws can just be done with like the Eastwood metal blackening system. On e-bay, you can buy the Moog stuff pretty cheap. Like the ball joints for under $20 each, tie rods for $40 each, drag link for $50 or so. But if the originals are tight, just clean them up a bit and paint them. I know I could reuse the drag link, idler arm, tie rods, etc. on my car, as they are still tight, and I may do that.
So I'm not saying everything needs to be brand new, but just cleaned and freshened up a little. I'm not ever going to build a points car, so I don't care about all the nit picky little details like correct plating on all the small pieces. Just everything clean and in very good working order. To be correct, actually the tie rods, drag link, basically all of the steering components, driveshaft, etc. were painted black after the car was assembled.
But spending thousands of dollars on nit picky details to win a little $5 trophy or whatever doesn't interest me.

I finally got the car shipped and I was excited to receive it and check out some numbers. I was happy to find out that the engine, carb, trans and ect were all born with numbers matching original. I also wiped down the trunk and was happy that it had no rust.
I started a new thread in a more appropriate area with some info and pictures, link below.
