I gonna put a roll bar in a 72 GS convertible,
for drag racing at NHRA events.
Anyone have one, it would be great to get some advise.

    Cheers!

    Consult the NHRA rule book.

X2 and not to be a Debbie downer but be ready to not be able to access / sit in the back seats anymore. If it s real GS that’s also not going to help the value of the car.

PLUS all the piping & welding will probably add about 100pds. So now the car will be a tenth slower.

I've got one out of my 71 GS convertible for sale (6 point)....great thing is that you drop the top and weld it in!......as opposed to sedan....I was going to partially cut and try to install into sedan but it would be great to drop in convertible. Was also thinking of making it bolt in for my convertible to sneak by tech at the track but I have new floorboards and carpets so I don't think so.....
It's a great bar done by a top shop that does chassis......$75 and it's yours....some surface rust but it needs clean up and paint anyway

What is the car you are doing this too?
    What is it’s condition?
What are your plans for it?

I had one put in my 1970 Chevelle SS396 bench seat 4 speed car, no numbers match but cleaner than most you would have seen. I race it now but regret doing it. Guy is a hack. Well respected in the biz. Lol.

1970 GS 350 . Family car since 1988, was moms.
Now JA Racing Engines stocky ocky style 1973 rebuilt 455
Drive to E Town, stock suspension, air down tires,
    1.70 60 ft. 12.40 108mph. Drive home.

    Forget about the roll bar..
Your 350 runs 12.40's thats cool.
