I came in on page 10 of this thread, saw the picture that's quoted above, and assumed it was a 2 door wagon. The I read "bammax's" comment and immediately went to page 1 and didn't stop until I got back to this post.

Really really nice work. I cannot wait to see more, but you better move quick. That Texas heat is only a few months away! :TU:

That would make my decision whether to come to the USA for the BPG Nats, or not, much easier.

Yardley and Rob, I would love to come to the BPG Nats, and if I can make some good progress, well, who knows? This project has dragged on, so it's good to have a goal in mind to spur me on.

Brian, thanks for reminding me about the impending Texas heat! :af: LOL!
It is my vow to not complain about heat this year, because I hated the cold so much. I will probably break that vow. :TU:

I just received a black steering wheel I bought off ebay, so that is the deciding move...black dash and appointment with white seats.

I sure thank everyone for their input on this silly dilemma. Not sure why I had such a hard time deciding, because I usually know just what I want, and lock into that like a missile.
Blue on the inside just never felt right, so that is why I came to you guys.
    Y'all really helped me.

I know a demo-derby guy in Kansas that has a full set of black seat belts for my wagon, and I will soon order carpet. Then things will really start to come together on this. :TU:

I had to reset the LH rear curved windows a few days ago. I didn't have it properly shimmed in place, and it shifted, messing up the butyl. :Dou:
I wanted to let all the glass set for a while before I put the urethane around it to seal it, but I better urethane it all up asap.

This week, I hope to move my parts car to a storage lot to get it off the driveway. It is an ugly beast, and needs to finally be out of sight. It runs great, so I will keep it until I am sure my wagon's drivetrain is strong.

    David :)

I haven't seen this thread in about a year. This wagon is coming along quite nicely! And yes, it's hot already. Pitch black dark outside and still 83 out there. 95 tomorrow? I'm only an hour south of DFW. This is nuts!

    Hey Wixom!!

How about an update? We haven't heard from you since the seventh of May. Have you thought about coming to the GS Nationals in KY in October? Lots of us would like to see that jewel in person.

    You really do good work!

Hey Race, I've been working a lot, just not too much on my wagon.

Yesterday, my first day off in weeks, I finally got my parts car off the driveway, and the neighbors threw a block party! Not really, but I know they are glad that eyesore is gone. Very patient and kind neighbors. :TU:

My '72 Electra parts car has a wonderful running 455, and a smooth trans. I'm saving the car in storage, until I know for sure the engine in my wagon is going to be a good one. Before I had it towed away, I made sure it would still start easily. :TU:

Tomorrow, I will finally get some good work done on my wagon, and get back on track. Going to be triple digits, but I will take hot over cold any day! :pp

I doubt that I will be going to Bowling Green in October, as it is over 900 miles from me. But I'm not going to completely rule it out.
Is there a Buick meet closer to Texas anytime soon? :Do No:

You're off to a good start. It's the prep work that counts.

Next winterproject is repainting my Cat. I was sure to stick to the blue color which is on it now, but due to the last posts here I'm now reconsidering... :Dou: :Dou:

Great blue colors, both, on the EW as on the RM :TU: :TU:

Well, I have an update, but it's not of progress, but of a setback. Last Sunday night, NE Dallas had a hailstorm that was a doozy! I was out of town on a trip at the time, and got back yesterday.

Looking at it today, at first, I thought it was unscathed, but upon closer inspection, I saw hail damage over the entire vehicle! The hood is hammered, and the roof is a nightmare! Dents under my perfect white vinyl top!

Reworking every panel, repairing the roof, and replacing the top will be a hassle, and will probably mean I will have to use a new solid-white Levant grain vinyl instead of the correct pearl-white NOS vinyl I have on it right now. I don't have enough of the original material.

My 98 got totally ruined in an apocalyptic hailstorm back in May, and now this.

I am pretty bummed about this development, to say the least.

    David :(

You may be able to remove and reinstall the vinyl. I've seen people heat it and use adhesive remover under an edge and slowly work their way across and entire surface an 1/8" at a time.
