I finally have some progress on this thing!

My engine compartment is almost all back together. That has taken me forever!

I installed my new windshield, and lightly painted a centerline down the length of the roof.

The rear pillars a freshly painted with paint matched to my Madrid-grain interior vinyl. These pillars are impossible to access once the glass is in place. The glass installation went well, after I botched it the first time around.

Today, I installed my vinyl top. I have been waiting for a cloudy, still day to put this thing on...working outside is one of the reasons this project has taken so long...that, and the fact that I'm slow as molasses! :spank:
Oh well, the top went very well! :pp

Now I can install the window trim, weatherstrip, headliner, etc. :TU:

Going to be a sharp car.

What brand of weatherstrip are you using?

I used SoffSeal on my '73 Electra 2 dr hardtop. I do not care for them; not like originals.

Lenny, I'm not sure what brand it is.

I've heard that some reproduction weatherstrip lacks the hollow center to allow it to conform to the window easily.
I will check mine out to see what kind I have.

You have a lot of talent! I like following this thread, it's really unusual to see a big wagon like this getting the treatment.

Beautiful work. I say paint it black, you've already got living proof that black will look good!

With a picture like this one, I might have been tempted to shoot it a solid color first and not go the vinyl top route. Or maybe leave that door open to a two-tone paint scheme in those colors. I'm just not a big vinyl top fan.

I say I like the top. I would pick a nice blue like gulfstream or maybe a lighter shade and us it. I am not a fan of stratomist blue with a white top. Black yes.
Are you going to go solid color, stripes, graphics? I think a nice pin stripe will be all this car needs.
We all are watching and waiting to see the finished product. PS I love the satin black look it has now but the blue would be way clasier.

Maybe Stratomist Blue with a black vinyl top and white interior? :Brow:

I never cared for the vinyl top myself. I don't mind the look, in fact I think it's classy, but I hate the rot that the vinyl brings with it.

I will agree with someone else though. The work is so perfect that nobody will appreciate it. They'll assume it was just a regular 2 door wagon. Somebody will say it's a sport wagon and that the sport wagon came as a 2 door and then give the trophy to some riced out Camaro cause it's obvious that the cowl hood wasn't standard equipment :Dou:

i might would go with a two tone paint job, but as much work as you have done do it justice and go with something bright like maybe some candies, something to make it stand out in a parking lot full of cars.

Oh you guys...the colors are locked in. :beers2:

White top, Royal Blue Metallic, white vinyl interior with BLACK appointments. :TU:

Thanks for all the suggestions, they helped me figure out what to do with the interior.
I am going to buy a black steering wheel, dye the dash, new black carpet, and I think I know where I can score some correct black seat belts.
