The best part is you reported back the final fix! This helps the rest of us with similar future issues....

    Tom, Larry,
I gave Patrick the credit because he focused on the "add on", replacement, temporary, top terminal connections. The posts on the battery and the "horseshoe clamp" on the cable were removed and spotless. The cable entering the clamp was "clean" other than the bronze that copper normally turns when exposed to the air.

So Larry, your advise stating "You have a problem with a bad connection" I would say was accurate. Thank you.
And Tom, your advise about cleaning the cables was right as well. Thank you. I have never had a bad connection because of oxidation of copper and certainly not one that went from 100% to 0% instantly. Maybe in the future you can include a comment if there are any manual or non-manufactured terminations suggesting to clean the copper back to shinny metal of course that is hard to do with stranded cables. Maybe cut and get new metal would be the way to go.

Any way, again thanks to all for your suggestions. I have my eye on a late 30s Buick that has been in dry storage for over 50 years so the body has 0 rust. Cheers.
