This gas tank and sending unit was taken off my 71 GS350 and another sending unit from my 72 GS455 It would be a great buy for someone to replace their old rusted gas tank. I don't want to trash this gas tank since I know someone can use it. Asking $75 No Shipping. Located in Warminster PA 18974 I can include either a working single fuel line or a dual fuel line gas tank sending unit for an additional $30 each.
Nice - What is that going to be? I guess since that's the plan for what I thinking about the tank for I'll pass (for now). I just hate using repro parts and was considering restoring a good tank. Definitely don't throw it away.
The frame is from the 71 GS350 4 speed car. Today she still has only less then 64k miles on her. She still wears the original paint and interior from 1971. BTW my brother had his gas tank power coated steel color and it looks great!
Wow, that's impressive to do all that and preserve the orig. paint. I'd love to see the car someday - Ever think about taking it to Cecil in the fall (I've only been myself the past few years despite only living 45 min. away so maybe you have). I did a body off on my old 350 4-sp car but unfortunately sold it (hardly any of it was orig.). I have another one now that's a basket case and $ losing proposition but really neat/oddball car that I'm really exited to re-do. As I'd mentioned in another thread I really like 350 4-sp cars. On the gas tank, I have a 71 350 convertible basket case (another losing proposition) and I'm trying to save a few $ where I can. By the time I seal the inside & have it coated I could probably buy a repro tank and someone could probably use yours for a driver, but if it comes down to throwing it out, I'd take it and pay you something for it. I have an NOS sender for the car but might take a sender too (no AC), esp. if was the one from your car. I bought my '70 Stage 1 4-sp. from Nick a few years ago and had been to his place a few times and actually thought about PM'ing you just to ask if I could stop by to see your car but seemed weird so I didn't, lol.
My brother and I had both our 72 GS455 at Cecil in 2017. Here is my blue 72 GS455 at Cecil, this is the car I am working on now. Yup Nick is just around the corner from my place, we see each other about driving our GS's once in a while. BTW you don't see may single fuel line sending units in our cars, I actually added the extra fuel return line on the frame rail wit new fuel pump and sending unit in the new tank for my 71. Dano are you somewhere near the Blue Route and I-95?
I must've seen your cars in '17. I'm south of Baltimore but get up in that area somewhat regularly for one reason or another. Years ago I dated a girl in New Hope so got a bit familiar with the area (& know why it's called the Blue Route, lol) and a friend/customer has a shop in Willow Grove (ironically Nick knew him & IIRC dated his sister) plus visiting Duane &/or Nick, etc. No, not too many single line, esp. '71. I'll have to check but I'm almost positive my NOS is. Either way I'm trying to not use too much NOS on the car (I happen to have 3 remote mirrors so it'll get one of them). The car is a non-AC (has forced Comfort-Flo (Lady I got it from kept saying it had AC) so it should've had a single line afaik.
