The kit looks great, all parts included but my mechanic said bumper would need to be dropped to get at wiring and wires should be soldered, not clipped. So a little more work involved than an "easy" install. Biggest prob. is they're slightly too large for lenses. Not going to shave or modify lenses! Check it out before you buy!

A couple of these 1157 socket adaptors will allow you to setup the system for easy removal and a return to standard lamps if you have a catastrophic failure some day... You will still probably want to loosen the bumper brackets to get access to everything and run the constant 12V the boards require. I drilled an 1/8in hole in the top of my housings for them but could have run the wire up through the drain holes in the housings as well. Make sure your grounds are all in good shape while you have access to the rear of the bumper, the LED boards do not like bad/weak grounds.

Great idea Ken!! The adaptors are an excellent idea. Thanks!

I will get a camera and send pics soon. My problem is that the lenses press against the LED board. The grooves in the middle of the board seem slightly too big so the board doesn't sit/fall inside the lense. Did you tuck the LED board under the lense gasket? That seems to be the only way it might work, but then gasket covers some of the LEDs (about 6).

Thanks for the help! Greatly appreciated!
    Craig

Number on lense is 5963867. Can't get pics to upload. Sorry. Ken, if 1157 adaptor has 3 wires, how did you hook it to LED board which has 5 wires?

Each board has 5 wires but only 4 are used per side. 3 of the wires connect to the board from the 1157 adaptor the 4th is a constant hot you will need to run to each side.

Thanks again Ken. Is the fifth wire a ground? If so do you ground it, or forget it?

I've had mine installed for well over a year. I don't remember having any issues with fitting them against the lenses (I have a 72). I think I put them in the buckets and then mounted the lenses after I was finished. I also didn't pull the bumper and did all of my wiring in the trunk.

Do you recall if you put them under the lens gasket. Seems to me that they would be best under it, that way the lenses push on the gasket for a better seal and won't (hopefully) damage LED board. Thanks!!

I can't remember if I did or not. I don't recall them having any fitment issues though when I put them in. I think they just fit right inside the recesses of the housing. The only trouble I ran into was fishing wires through into the trunk without dropping the bumper.

Ken, can you explain which colors on the adaptor connect to which wires on LED harness please (wiring is not my thing!) adaptor has red, black, and white. Harness has brown, yellow, green, black, and orange.
    Thank a lot
