71-72 8.5” 10-bolt rear from 71 Olds Vista Cruiser. Same as Cutlass/442 & Skylark/GS except the Vistas got a larger SET10 axle bearing, and wider 9.5”x2.5” rear drums. Track width is the same. They had a special backing plate with deeper offset,to accommodate the wider shoes. I will build this to suit. Stock-mild-wild. This rear will also take the traditional 9.5”x 2” rear brake assemblies,as well as the aftermarket rear disc kits for BOP rears. These have the regular 28-spline bolt-in axles, but I can do 30-spline,and I have also built these with 33-spline. I make my own 33-spline Eaton posi for these. The larger OD for the bearing allows the larger 33-spline shaft.
I know I need to post a price, which would range from $1400.00-$1900.00,depending on what you want. I can ship through Fastenal or pick up in Erie,Pennsylvania.

gm took all there good parts, put m together and got the best rear, yet, better pinion, and axel bearings than a 12 bolt,no c clip axles, but u can put a c clip carrier in it,also full size carriers inter change,so if you find a impala etc it will work, the carrier flange is made thicker,so no spacer is needed to do to lower gears,i think 273 to 513 gears are a bolt in,been awhile so im not sure of the range of gear sets any more, yep,a rear 10.5 71 or 72 cutlass is a great find !

Here is the most recent one I did with the 33-spline shafts and custom Eaton unit. This one got 3:90’s.
