Chatting with my fellow MM crew, we got to talking about early Hip Hop. So now for something different. So I'll start it off with...........
Kirt post Herbie Hancock ready or not And Rick james cop n blow How do u guys post it like this on here I need to figure it out And then I'll be going crazy
Yer not alone. In London in the 1980s I saw Public Enemy, Beasties, Run DMC, LL Cool J....... saw Ice T in the early 90s. I absolutely love a lot of early Snoop and Ice Cube too but sadly never seen them. Bought my son 15th birthday tickets to see Snoop in Nottingham, central England, about 15 years ago and he wouldn't let me come with him LOL. I also love: Hank Thompson, Merle Haggard, Howlin' Wolf, The Impressions, The Clash, Ramones, Buzzcocks, Gram Parsons, The Byrds, The Seeds, The Stooges, the Velvets, Scott Walker, Dustry Springfield, The Partridge Family (not joking)....... all kindsa great music in all kindsa genres.
Great thread. Taking me back. Do that Humpty Hump everyone. Great memories of a 6' 3" blonde California girl I dated when that song was popular. Beasties RULE. Aerosmith owes their resurgence to Run DMC. Super Freak was written about Linda Blair for those that don't know. Rick James' girl for awhile.
im a big fan of house of pain front man erik schrody aka everlast: he also did the theme song for the tv series "saving grace", with holly hunter and he had a small role as bartender jake in the series "got a heart full of gold on a lonely road"
