I've posted for a 70 Stage 1 before. I've been saving my money so I'm just wondering if anything is available. Any conditions considered and it must be a numbers matching car. Thanks. Brian
Looky here.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...ory=6144&item=4561365482&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Just popped up on eeeeeebay. :bglasses:
Thanks for the info, I like the car but it isn't the original transmission. Thats the only reason I'm not interested in that one.
1970 GS Stage 1 in Maryland You asked me to hold off. I havenot heard from you. $12,500 Buys it.... The thread is in Cars for sale now. Its in MAryland.. Matching number motor and tranny. Will have Sloan report Wednesday. Interested or not. Rusty
Brian are you serious about buying a stage-1 car or what? Youve emailed me several times over the past few months stating you were interested in my car and just recently emailed me again? I dont care if you buy it or not, but a little courtesy (email or phonecall) goes a long way. Thanks-Ray o No:
Ray, I'm sorry about not calling you, but I thought you weren't selling it right now according to your last PM. I thought your car had the original transmission in it, but it doesn't. I want a numbers matching car so I'm going to pass on your car. It is gorgeous however. I am really sorry about not getting back to you but like I said I thought you weren't selling it until later on this year. Brian
No problem, all i wanted was a reply. I wasnt really looking to sell it right now anyways, but you seemed very interested so i thought id offer it to you. Good luck
How much can you spend...... How much can you spend on one..... What is your price range? That will make a great deal to people who are looking to sell. :Brow:
Billy, I'd rather not post a price for my own reasons. I do not want someone to offer me their car for what my posted price is. I'd rather them tell me a price and then go from there. Thanks. Brian
I've been following your two threads in looking for a car. I think it is important for you to let people know what your budget is. i.e., Is your perception that you can purchase a body off fully restored 70 stage 1 4 speed numbers matching with documentation for $30,000 or for $60,000? It's only a matter of determining if you are a "champagne buyer with champagne budget". Harvey
I have a numbers matching 71' four speed stage1. If that interests you you can send me a pm and I can give you the details. One thing I will say up front is that it is not in need of anything and the price reflects that. Total top to bottom restoration has ~ 200 miles on it I also have the build sheet to verify the accuracy.
Ok, I'm looking at spending around 30K right now. Im putting more and more money away as I am working. I do not want a frame-off restored car. I plan on driving the one I buy. As far as documentation goes I just want it to have the numbers and stampings on the block, trans, and rear. Sloan Documentation or Buildsheets do not really matter to me. If I'm really interested in a car I will pay to get the Sloan Documentation.
Hi Brian - There is no specific VIN stamping on the rear, and a rear can always be replaced with the proper one if so desired. :bglasses: Good luck in your search :bglasses: :beer
Marco, Thanks for the info and wishing me luck. I just meant that I'd like the OO or NO on the rear, but like you said you can always get a correct rear. What I really want is is a numbers matching engine and trans. I know of 2 people that have Stage 1's in my area, but one will not sell his and the other one is waiting to finish his GSX before he sells his GS Stage 1. Brian
Brian, This was just posted on the BPG site a little while ago. Sounds like what you're looking for and it falls within your price range. I figured you might be interested. 1970 Buick Stage 1 with rebuilt matching number engine and BB trans. Originally a California car, it is loaded with factory options such as p/b (drum), gauges, a/c, rally ride, speed minder, buckets and console. I was told by the previous owner that the car has a dealer installed Stage 2 package which included a B4B, Holley 850cfm and headers. It has a 12bolt 3:73 rear end in it now however I have a peg leg 70 Buick 10 bolt and disc brake set up that would go with the car for the right price. This Stage 1 was restored several years ago and although very presentable it is not what I would call a show car but more of a week end cruiser. Car is documented via Sloan museum. Asking price is $28,500.00. If you have any questions call Juan at 786-402-4262.
Brett, Thanks for the info, I already heard about this car from Marco and I inquired about it. I am interested in, I'm just looking for someone to look at it for me and for the seller to send me more pictures. Brian
