70 stage 1 engine/trans found

Engine block is stamped 246928, BB trans is 256927. I posted in the bench asking if it was possible that the vin stamps could have been 1 digit off. Previous owner wasn’t sure if the car survived or not as he said it was wrecked a long time ago, but reassured me it all came from the same car.

 

I’m no expert but I’d bet the numbers mix ups happened all the time on the assembly line.

 

The engine block in my GSX was one off from the VIN.

You might want to check on the stage 1 registry to see if a car is on it that matches. The owner would probably like hearing from you if it is.

 

I checked it this morning. Doesn’t show in the registry.

 

If nobody claims it and you want to sell it, holler at me .Got an old stage 1 roller I could drop it in.

I would be interested in this drivetrain as well if you decide to sell, I'd like it for my 70 GSX

 

You just never know...I had the original motor and transmission to a 71 GSX for over 25 years and finally reunited the car with the motor and transmission..

 

Awesome, I have the original BB trans but no idea what happened to the engine, 282072, Non stage 70 in it now. I think it was sold new in Delaware

 

As much as I would love to see it in your X, the best option for me is to keep it and use it in my 70 plain 455 car.
