I was at a car show yesterday in Clearwater and saw this 70 Skylark Custom Vert with a 3 on the tree. It is owned by the original owner. He said the car was a special order by a woman who ordered a 3 speed auto, but the factory put a 3 speed manual transmission. He said she refused it and he bought it. It has 160K on it. Repainted in the 90's, it looked very nice. I tried to take a picture of the pedals, but it didn't come out too good. He said it is a one of one for a 70 Skylark Custom Vert.
My sister-in-law bought a '70 Skylark 2dr. hdtp. black-black-black new & ordered it with a 3 spd. manual on the column.
If u did not check the order form for an auto tran, U got 3 on the tree unless u ordered a GS, then the 3 on the tree became 3 on the floor.
I suppose the salesman could have screwed up. The car had ps, pb, ac, and several other options. UticaGeoff
I had a 71, 3 on the tree, power top, power bench seat, power steering, manual drum brakes, shifter and trans worked really good
