I am look to replace springs on a GS455 non/ac car. Read multiple threads and here’s where I’m at with options. Looking for stock ride Heath and handling.

    1) Moog front- couple choices 5398 -load 1678, rate 365. Or 5396 - load 1985, rate 487. I read through this info from George n and Dave k but this mentions for a/c car. http://www.buickperformanceclub.com/springs.htm

Moog rear 5385. These appear to be correct.

oog springs run abouT $90 for pair roc auto For front and $65 for rears

). Springs and things quoted a match pair of springs for 100 for fronts and 100 for rears. Fronts from them are same as the Moog 5536. They initially recommended the 5536 for the GS it will have a firmer ride than the 5398 and would sit About 3/8” higher.

3). Eaton Detroit spring 189 per pair for fronts and 189 for rears. stock non/ac. Standard or heavy duty for rear available At same price.

Any thoughts on what you may have used and recommend?

I researched this rather extensively and decided on the Eaton springs.

Of course, I've yet to install them but there was a lot of good feedback about their products.

I've used the Eaton springs on my cars with excellent results.

Do you use the standard or heavy duty rears from Eaton?

I just installed rear Moog CC501 Cargo Spring in the rear of my 72 GS455, here is a photo. The whole rear suspension was completely rebuilt, I believe it will settle a little. I also have installed these same rear springs on my 71 GS350 and it ride great!
