Thanks Jim - I will share with my body man. I trust he knows what he's doing. The front fenders have coat 1 of the correct Bamboo Cream color on it. He is trying to seal the car in the next week or so, so I'll have some updates soon. Here are a few new pics of the progress. Check out the cool 1970 era license plate I registered with PA. Too bad it looks like the new NY tags, but it's my new legal tag! BH
Rear quarters are a little worse than we thought. Doors and trunk are sealed but need some work where the patches were installed. More to come. BH
Okay - the car has been stuck at the body shop since the owner has been crazy busy...recently there has been a little progress and I'd thought I'd share. Top is sealed and painted and ready for the vinyl top. Jams are painted and the majority of the car is sealed. Rear window is fixed and sealed. He is going to cut and weld metal into the rear quarters from a donor pair of quarters. Slowly but steady, it's coming along.
It's taking waaaay too long, but as of late, there has been some work done to the GS. New glass, front and rear is in. New top is on. Doors are on and sealed. Jams and the inside of the trunk is painted. The little bit of rust that was on the rear of the quarters is cut out and replaced with a donor skin. The rest of the metal is good so the body guy didn't want to hack into all of that. With a little bit of luck, it should be going in for paint around Thanksgiving. But I'm not holding my breath. BH
Thanks Brian - I know it's not a popular color, but I really like this color combination. It was one of the best sellers in 1970. BH
I also have that project that's still a project. I can't believe it's not done becomes a montra. I've never heard mine run.....
