I just removed the vinyl/cardboard door panel for one of my doors, after wrestling with the retaining clip on the window crank for 20 minutes. Of course, all 6 of the plastic retainer plugs are broken. Does anyone make these now, or is there a functional replacement? I image I'll need them for the other door when that one's removed soon too. Also, are these rings around the window crank reproduced or available? It was a casualty in the crank removal.
Both are available repro.....you might contact Todd (he goes by "ToddsGS" and owns DC Muscle Cars. He's stocking and selling more and more of these items and probably carries both items. You can find good used window crank washers ("rings" - the grey spacer you show above) but by the time you pay another shipping charge you could probably buy a new one from Todd along with the door panel plastic "plugs".
The best plastic retainers are sold by www.amkproducts.com sells the best ones. They actually work. I have read of people getting them from other sources and the clips did not hold properly and always were popping out. I have used AMK in several cars and all worked.
