Can anyone point me in the direction of someone that makes or sells the windlace for a 71 GS Coupe. I see all kinds available for 69 and earlier but nothing for the years mentioned. Thanks all.

I was just looking for some and it appears none are available.
I tried, Postons, Parts Place, National Parts Depot, OPG etc.

    What color do you need?

    hmmm.

Just got a new Legendary catalog and they list them I thought. Correct me if I'm wrong as I was hoping to buy a new pair this spring.

    regards

What are you after?? There is rear window windlace, the side windlace and front windlace, the vertical part on the dooramb, etc....I think the doorjamb one is the only repro out there right now....

I have several sets in various colors and I'm sure others do too...

Well, I am restoring a 70 GS455 coupe and it had a white headliner and windlace trim. Somehow, the windlace turned to goo. Somehow, white windlace and bucket seat trim seem to disintegrate here in FL. I do have another 70 parts car that has off-white/beige windlace and it is in good condition. I will redye it if needed to be white with SEM vinyl dye.

I thought National Parts Depot would have them for Chevelle but they do not. I would like to know what Legendary has for sale and the prices. I would need all 4 pieces (frt and rear glass, both side pieces).

You would think black would not last here in the FL heat but I just removed a complete set from a 72 and they were perfect! Go figure! :Do No:

    Guys,
The windlace that I used to reproduce was for 68's and I think 69's. It was the vertical door-jam windlace, and consisted of a pece of vinyl that was sewn around a round foam rubber core and had a piece of cardboard attached at the bottom. It is completely different from the 70-72 molded piece.

    whoops...

Legendary lists only door jamb windlace....

That would seem like an awfully easy extrusion for someone to make.

    sorry

The side/rear/front windshield windlace would not be cheap to reproduce if done like original.....The original is textured (so a mold would be required as opposed to just extruding it in a smooth form) and it has a steel core in it so it can be formed into corners, etc. Yeah George, just like white seatbacks and armrest bases the white windlace doesn't hold up too well. Occasionally find good sets of black windlace down here..but that color seems to hold up just fine anywhere in the country. Patton

I was after the side pieces. I think the front and rear ones are available. I had the same situation with mine that there just real gooey and don't want to stay in place anymore. It would have simplified things a lot if there was a replacement off the shelf. I don't really care about the surface texture.
