Me and my pops (inspiration and facilitator of my Stage 1 obsession) got our cars up to World of Wheels here in KC for this Weekend. All shined up and ready to go, glad to have a place to show them off in the dead of this missouri winter! More to follow!
Thanks fellas! Headed down now, gonna keep a running tally of how many times I hear "is this a (Chevelle, GTO, 442)" as well as the "my buddy had a sister who dated a guy who's cousins best friend had one of these in '68 but it was a stage 4".
I love those shows. I have my car entered in the Salt Lake show March 20-22. I am busting my hump to get it ready by then, I still have loads to do. Good luck! I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience.
day one down, so far a great experience! Some stiff competition in both me and my fathers class but I've racked up 3 media appearances and to date the best quote I've heard. "You know, back in '70, these cars were King of the Hill, no one could touch 'em. Not even Hemi's" runner up being from a magazine editor "I did an article on these back in the day, they were even faster than the LS6's chevy was putting out". Awards today, fingers crossed!
The Black 70 got 3rd place and the Flame Orange 72 got 2nd in restored class. Only 2 GS in the whole show.
Congratulation on 2nd and 3rd. :TU: Those are great places to be awarded. I don't know about your area but here The World of Wheels shows have tough competition with many fine cars. You should be proud.
You should take them to the MCACN show this year-That show is a blast! Congrats on the awards...the cars look great!
