While perusing eBay the other day I came across a suplier of dash pad repairs that I have not heard of before. They are doing quite a few different pads but only 66-67 Skylarks. I have encouraged them to look in to doing 70 - 72 models as well. I think some encouragement might get them to try. They are located at https://www.ebay.com/usr/thedashpadfactory on eBay and they look to have favorable reviews so far. Prices seem reasonable compared to other alternatives.

That would be awesome. I tried one of the dash pad covers from OPGI and they are pretty crummy - its looks pretty terrible in the corners and from the glass looking inside. It's not a great solution.

I emailed the ebay seller and he just responded with: "Hello, we are currently working on the mold for that dash. We hope to have it listed soon. Thank you for your interest."
    :)
    Hope springs eternal!

Do they repair yours or are these reproduction pads?

Just Dashes restores your existing pad. It is about $900.00 for a 70-72,done in black. Colors are $1,000-$1100.00. I am having them restore one of mine in the correct 1970 red.

NINE HUNDREDHeads O cabbage?! NINE HUNDREDSIMOLIANS?

Well dang gum!!! I heard they were high but shhhhheeeot.

Sounds like I am gonna be making a V-cut in the one crack on my dash, filling it in with something pliable, then duplicating the grain with my Fritz patented Cheapskateomatic
Process and say “Gud nuff fer government work.

“Factory Buick red dash” Mister Trick? I caught that Mister Silver on Red heh heh
    Man that is gonna pop!

Well yeah - but Just Dashes does perfect work...when you get it back it looks exactly like a new one. And they last - the one on my convertible is 20 years old, been in the sun a lot, and looks like it was a day old!

I have one perfect dash and one NOS dash, and I could dye them, but I also have a 3rd dash that does not have any cracks, but has a heavy sag over the cluster. I am sending that one for them to restore for the red one.
That can also do things like the bucket seat headrests,to the tune of $450-$550.00,but I was fortunate to find a Chevelle guy that had 4 of them, and was able to get two ladies from that group. There are still a good amount of good headrests out there yet,so even I don’t think it’s practical to have a pair of those restored yet.
I should also mention that they can customize. Let’s say you wanted some gauge pods or holes molded into you pad. They can build or work that into the resto, then recover with the vinyl.

Just Dashes"restored"my 67 headrests. The plastic rectangles that (on my car) were affixed to the base of my headrests between the two chrome mounting posts went "missing" The defined, raised bead that runs around the headrest from one side, over the top and down the opposite side was barely a faint vestige of the original. Maybe on dashes this company does ok. But,I would not and will not spend another significant chunk of change to have them "restore" a set of headrests.

You can pick up a nice original here or at the GS nationals for about $100 bucks. I have had great success painting originals with the correct flat lacquer and made them look new. The dash on my GSX I sold for over a $100k was a painted original. No need to spend that kind of money?

I know I can dye it. I’ve never had a problem dying any interior parts, but if I can save an original, and leave it it’s original color for someone else, and resurrect a pad that nobody would currently want,I will do that.

Sags can be fixed at home. Spread the dash across something at Both ends so the sag is in the open. Put a hot halogen light under it and then place weights on sag. Stay with it so you don’t burn dash. I have done this several times. I then paint the dash with Lacquer paint per the GM factory bulletin I have. I am astounded someone would pay almost a grand on one of these unless you have a rare item.
