First class job guys. You really can see all that hard work pays off when it looks this good.

Pinstripes Really complement the decklid paint . I haven’t seen them over the rear wheel arches before . Could be CRS :D

    Don,
Only the very early 69 cars came that way. The Assembly Manual states, on page 1-6.3, that on 9/20/68 "Stripes Over Whl/House Removed & Dimensions Revised." This is up in the revision block at the top right corner. Now this date would be when the drawing was created, so it probably took a few days to get to all of the Assembly Plants.

I figure if my car had been built a week or so later it would not have had those stripes, and would look like the majority of the 69 cars that are striped. We were lucky with the fact that the Original Factory Stripes were still on the car so we could measure them.

This is just one of the thousand things I researched for this car.

Just came back from seeing the car and hearing it run in person for the first time. The car should be a blast to drive.
    Here are a few shots.

Here are a few more. The Hurst Equipped Emblem is now on the trunk lid and both the stickers for the rear axle cover and the Phase III Ignition are on now.

The last picture is what Nick says is going to be my best friend for a while.:p:p:p

    Thanks for the Kudos guys.
A lot of the nut/bolt knowledge with this car is all due to Nick. He really knows the 69 cars and had a lot of the special hardware already plated and ready to go. The best I can say is I am an informed novice regarding the 69 cars, but am learning really quick.

Nick still has a few little things to do and needs to put the front and rear Bumpers on the car. (They are already assembled.) We are still waiting for a few parts but hopefully they will not take long to get. Nick is also getting one of our original used Hurst Wheel center caps replated, so when that's on all 4 will be Originals. I never noticed, but once Nick showed me the difference, the 1 repro center was not going to work with the other 3 originals.

So that's where we're at. Once it's done I will have to contact a few people.

    That is a great Avatar.
Nick and your self have done terrific work in bringing this car back to life.
Great work and speaking from experience I have had my 69 for 30 years and enjoy every mile.
Thanks for the step by step showing of the build.

    Gary,
It's been my pleasure, and has been quite a ride already. The last time I drove this car was when we were towing it from Jimmy's old house to his new one, and that was on the end of a rope behind his pick-up. I imagine the next ride will be very different.

I'm just happy that the car is almost finished. Many of the guys in my area have been waiting for that day.

Y'all need to find out where the hot wheels track wound up that was used for the Tanner Foust truck jump. Then run that car down the ramp and down the track (probably should skip the jump part though) would look like a hot wheels commercial from 1969. Car looks incredible.

Or get a chunk about 15 ft long and use as a prop at car shows...
