I got this at the 2019 GSCA Nats.

Before I could have it judged I had to bring documentation of exactly the parts Motion was using for the time period of when the car was built...............even down to the type of push on Chrome air breather unit in the passenger side valve cover. I had some copies of old Magazines from back in the day, as well as some pages showing when the Hurst wheels were available, and the different ways they were offered, ie. all polished, only spokes polished, etc. Otherwise the aftermarket parts on the car would have been deductions, and the car would not survive the judging.
    Enjoy.

Kinda odd being on the other side of the judging, eh? Well deserved Duane.

    Thanks,
Yeah, even though I had my 71 GSX judged years ago, it still makes you a bit nervous when you put them out there. Especially with this one, as it is a 69 and I don't know them as much as I do the 70-72 cars.
    Learned a few things too.

Just got my Magazine for the 2019 MCACN show and they did a nice write up for the 1969 Buick Special Display that Ajesh put together.

I was very grateful for the press.

A couple of my friends were having a hard time reading the text on the blue background, so I typed it out and am posting it below.

Last year, Dr. Ajesh Parikh hosted what may have been the finest group of real deal highly documented Buick GSX's ever assembled under one roof. With Brad Conley's Prototype pearl white '70 in the center, it was flanked by an entire row of 70-72's in nearly every available color. That's right...we said colors, as in '71 and '72 there were a variety of choices other than Saturn Yellow and Apollo White, which many didn't know. It's always great to educate while we entertain!

This year Ajesh, who is clearly one of the most enthusiastic Buick muscle collectors, returns to host yet another group of show-stopping Buicks. Since we are celebrating the model year 1969, Ajesh decided to spotlight some of the cars that are rarely seen. Fact is, among the General Motors A-Body cars, (Chevelle, GTO, Cutlass and Skylark), the Buick GS's are among the scarcest. Of course, this just meant Ajesh would do more digging, make a few more calls, and send plenty of E-mails! To say he takes this seriously would be quite an understatement.

The result is another truly outstanding group of muscular Buicks. Unlike the other GM divisions, Buick did not offer "special edition" GS's like The Judge in '69. However they did offer the GS with the hot 400 cubic inch engine in standard 340 horsepower or the optional Stage 1 version, which was under-rated at 345 horsepower. When you factor in the special high-lift cam, 11.0:1 compression instead of 10.25:1, a special carburetor and fuel pump along with the larger low-restriction exhaust that made up the Stage 1 package, you can't deny that the factory rated horsepower may have been, well...a little on the low side.

This display will feature both standard 400 cube versions along with some prime Stage 1's, in both hardtop and convertible body styles. And to really take things over the top, we are pleased to host the one and only Motion Equipped '69 GS, recently restored to exactly as it was back in the day. Of course, many don't know that Motion offered enhancements for cars other then Chevrolets, but this year at the MCACN show, you will be able to see the proof, up close and in person.

We are honored to present this very special display featuring '69 GS Buicks that are joining us from across the country. We salute each and every one of the owners who share the passion for these seldom seen gems. Special thanks also go out to Dr. Ajesh Parikh, who continues to share his enthusiasm for all things Buick.

Just saw this in the March 2020 Issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines. They did a 10 page spread on the MCACN show and my car was pictured on page 32.
    Enjoy.

Well, the creek rosed up and hopefully by November all things will be somewhat "normal". Unbelievable change of events since just February of this year, a mere 3 months.
