Kudos to yourself and Nick for bringing the car back to it's original glory. It looks great!

From the article...."The seller also mentioned that the car appeared in a movie. Jim later went to visit the previous owner, who also said it was in a movie and that he’d bought it from someone who worked for the studio."
Duane, did you ever get more info about the movie appearance?

    Walt,
I did not. The hope is that the article will shake out some of the car's past history.

I gave Richard Prince all kinds of info on the car, and verified everything with Jimmy before I sent it out, Richard put the article together and I got to proof it. Pretty much everything we know about the car is in there. (Although I did give him the wrong info from the Dyno Sheets, thanks Nick.)

I did find some insurance cards from the previous owner, but Jimmy took it further then that with his research, so I would just be going over old ground, and doing it 40 years later. I do have one other avenue I might try, but it's a long shot, and probably will not pan out. I probably will not pursue that course unless I have to.
I guess we will see what happens. Until then I'll keep driving it occasionally and continue to get it ready for the upcoming shows.

There may be an obscure credit out there - do we know publicly the prior owners names? The approx year of movie or type?

    Again,
As posted above in my response to Walt, I only have the name of the previous owner and that lead to a dead end. Jimmy does not remember the names of the people before that. I can certainly understand why, as that was 40 years ago.

We have no information, as in zero, about the movie, and are hoping the article will flush out someone from earlier in the car's life, to get a new lead.

That's exactly what happened when my article ran back in January.

One of the previous owners (still living in Lebanon, PA) saw the article and reached out via Facebook.

A couple phone conversations later and I had 99% of the car's lineage.

There's a database for locating specific cars in old movies. If someone wants to look:

    Shawn/Walt,
It might be, it has bucket seats, and the wheels are the type that came on the car when it was built, and it had red line tires. I can almost see some type of lines around the rims, but can hardly see the body pin stripes in the shadows.

I never considered the car being in a movie as it was built. I always assumed it was after it was striped.
The year would be right 1971, and so would the location, New York.

It could be the car, I saved the picture and then blew it up real big, and I could see some light lines running down the door and from the rear wheel house to the rear bumper.

    Thanks for the lead guys.

Below is the picture from the movie.

Yea, Duane and I were talking about that today as I didn't know what airport that was, but guessed JFK after guessing Newark. Thanks for letting us know!
