Looking for a stock replacement fuel pump for my 69 400. Year One lists p/n 2174N for the 69-72 400/455, but it is not in stock with no lead time. OPGI does not list one for the 400/455 engine at all. Where are you all getting your stock replacement pumps from?
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/buick,1969,gs+400,6.6l+400cid+v8,1379752,fuel+&+air,fuel+pump 40664 is the deep bowl Stage 1, it’s higher volume (good) but will need a new metal fuel supply line that TA sells. I’d buy the Delco. (Or buy both the pump and the pipe from TA). Patrick
I have that exact pump you linked to from Rock Auto. Issue I have is the pump is putting out 12psi which is far to much, causing issues with the carb. Could be that it was built wrong which is why I am looking for another one. Spoke with TA based on your recommendation. They do not have any in stock, believe they are 3 weeks out. Seeing how Rock Auto seems to be the only one with pumps in stock it may be worthwhile to just try another of the same in the event I have a bad part.
In the past I’ve had good luck with Airtex, you might try theirs. You should be able to get it, and maybe even the Delco, at a local parts store in a day and if it’s defective it’d be easier to return. Patrick
I have an original AC delco pump that was in my 70 455 block. It may have been from a 68 430 as I have found 68 430 parts on my 70 block as I was disassembling it. Just needs a good cleaning and repaint.
