Forget whether it is a real Stage 1 or not, what the H*LL are people doing bidding a no reserve car up to $21k with 7 days left? :af: HELLO?????? What, is sneaking up and suprising someone a lost art? Sniping dead? Inflated egos mean you have to be the high bidder now? This reminds me too much of why prices get out of hand at Barrett Jackson. o No:
stage 1 I'm with Chris 110% on this thought--- Snipe-em in the last 30 sec--if it is still in your price range :TU:
sniping Been there, TRIED that. A few months back, I bid a 71 GS 350 4 speed convert up to $13,500 and got sniped with 22 seconds left. Lost the car by $100.00 !!!! That doesn't mean the other bidder didn't put in a higher price as HIS high, he just had to beat me. If I really thought it was worth more, I would have bid accordingly. I knocked another guy out of the box under a minute to go. Maybe these guys can't get to a computer when the auction is getting close to the end, or they have a ton of money , either way, if someone who saw it a year ago thinks it was worth less, I'd pass at that price. P.S. My first post on this sight in Nov. was a "Cars Wanted" looking for a '69 Ragtop 4 speed. Still looking....... Just happy to have the '72 455 Convert I ended up with. :beer
i saw it last year and was advertised in gsx-tra for sale. car had some issues and i don't think it was the original motor and one of the wheel cylinders locked up when i took it for a test ride. maybe the 3.5 hour ride to see it or that the car wasn't in the condition that the owner(lawyer) told me it was that put me off. i made an offer but it was turned down.
i think it was listed for 21k, i offered 12k. didn't think it was worth more. car had issues. can't remember if 'RS' was on motor and no paperwork was available.
ID? Is he sure it wasn't "RD"? RD is a 69 Rivvy motor. 430 I think?? My 69 numbers 400 motor is stamped "RRD". :error: Guess they couldn't decide if it was going to be a 400 or a 430. uzzled:
I looked at the link and checked out the pics, not too many close ups on the body but from what I could see it looks very straight and any rust that would be in there is well hidden if its there. When I looked it was at 23000, barret jackson may be the place to put it for the money, maybe I'm just too cheap for that. But it does look like a dam nice car. I couldnt help but notice that someone really does have issues with some of the responses, I found it funny but thats just me, that wouldnt be the owner would it?
I guess $23,100.01, the same as it has been for a while, unless you are planning on bidding............
I oo thought it wasn't going anywhere and was gonna throw high bid up and demand Stage documentation or walk o No: Ya never know....
The reason seller couldnt see/find the RS code was the area wasnt clean enough, i pulled # 5 wire, the boot was blocking viewand cleaned the area. also vin # on car, block & 4spd match. havent checked rear code yet
Interesting. Would this be a Decemeber 5, 1969 engine block casting on a first week of November 1969 build date car? My eyes are probably playing tricks on me but does anyone else see the faint outline of ".....99H" just to the left of the "I54" stamp? ( This is a Roschach test) The more I look at it I do not think I54 is the julian casting stamp. I think the first space is the letter "I "and not the digit "1" I would be curious to see the cast date on the block and the intake manifold. The blue paint is odd too. Perhaps the engine was painted the body color at one time?
