69 Front Disc Almost Non-Existent Pressure

    The hold off valve & proportioning valve are one in the same & both serve the same purpose of stopping the front disc brakes from applying before the rear brakes get 300 lbs. of pressure. That's the function of a hold-off/proportioning valve.

    I've yet to try them without any vacuum assist. Honestly I was too chicken to test them out like that haha. I'll have to do it when the parking lot quiets down.

    Not according to my EIS Brake manual Tom. The Hold off valve and Proportioning valve had two different functions. From everything I have read though, the earlier cars just used a Hold Off Valve, not a proportioning valve. 71 and later used a combination valve with separate hold off and proportioning sections.

    I depressed the hold-off valve & it would not release, no matter what. had to buy a new one, back in 2001.
