    Hello,

I am looking for the location of this buzzer. The buzzer got stuck on one day so I removed the radio and disconnected it from the wiring harness that goes back to the steering column (horn). Now I can't find the buzzer plugin! I have the wiring harness plug from the dash but have no idea where the wire that goes back to the buzzer is. Can anyone assist in the location of the buzzer? This way I can start there and work my way back in.

    Thank you!

    Vito

In 70-72 it is to left of glovebox if I remember correctly. I assume 69 the same. Take out glovebox and look left. You may also be able to go under and reach up. It’s against the front of dash so don’t look towards firewall. the nice thing is the harness connector only reaches that far. So hold onto connector and make a circle with it if you have trouble. It will only reach so far.

As dave said the buzzer is on the underside of the dash over by left side of glove box. This buzzer is on same circuit as horn, so with the harness unplugged from the buzzer, the horn won't work. My buzzer is on all the time when the doors are open even with the key out of the ignition, because the switch inside the ignition in the steering column is broken. I need to replace it. PIA. So it is either I listen to buzzer every time I open the driver's side door, or, I unplug the harness at the buzzer and have no horn. Or, pull my column and fix the ignition switch.

I know! I need a horn! Otherwise I couldn't care less. Distracted driving has gotten worse and worse with time and social media. Is your facebook account really that important?! Just drive!!
I will remove the inside of the glove box and hopefully find it. Thank you both.

I think you can get to it without removing the glove box liner. I don't remember exactly, but I think you can. Ya gotta get on your back though. Let buzz while you're looking that will help you. :)

A strong flashlight is your friend. It’s a small usually silver box.

897F1AC8-CDFA-4E4C-BD1E-26BDFF77EDEA.jpeg I was a bit off on location. It’s above the glovebox on 70-72. Yours should be similar.

Yeah it ain't a picnic but I think you can plug it in and unplug it without removing the glove box liner. I may have even removed my switch to look at it I don't don't remember now. Definitely easier with glove box out either way.

Its there, I just disconnected it because it was buzzing nonstop! All I really need the horn to work and I'll be all set. I'll let yous know this weekend. I appreciate the assistance, wish I would have heard of this site last year.

You can clip the wire in the directional switch too. I'll have to look and see which one it is

Ok. So I found it and plugged it back in but the buzzer won't stop. Any ideas? Do I need to replace the buzzer?

Where would I find a part like that? I'm sure Advanced or O'Reilly's wouldn't stock it.

Ebay, any one of the popular repro parts vendors. There are two different ones for tilt and non tilt.
