I thought I remember a couple of years ago, being able to find an after market grill that was chromed metal. Perhaps tubes?

My most recent hunting, I only find the reproduction plastic grills.

Does anyone make custom chrome grills?

I'll have to look up in the garage rafters. I made a custom tube grille for my '68 many years ago. Maybe I still have it.

Cool. I was sure at one time there was a company that made them.

There was/is a company that custom makes them. You'll need to do a bit of forum searching to find the old thread. Try chrome grill in a search, for instance, in the repro and maybe the parts wanted sections

Found it. I'll get a couple of photos after my wife gets home. She has a camera in her phone.

Four pix- front, back, right side up and upside down. The vertical bars are aluminum machined to accept the tubes. There is some pitting on some tubes, as some are 400 stainless (which will actually rust) and the others are 300 series, which just builds a film. I polished them and sprayed a clear coat on them many years ago. Don't know why there were both types of SS in the same bin.

    Nice.

Are the vertical bars drilled and attached with screws? I see black dots.

Yes. I tapped the aluminum and put in Allen head screws.
